Chinese equity funds are adding net new money again, according to fund flows data from our partners at EPFR.
After outflows in April and May, these funds turned to a net inflow from June 10, as our first chart shows.

So far, 2024 is on track to be another solid year for inflows, continuing the positive trend of the previous three years. As our second chart shows, the 2021-2024 period has outperformed many of the pre-pandemic years.

As our third chart shows, China has accounted for the lion's share of Emerging Asia equity fund inflows since 2021. (Note that the most recent bars in our chart are for April and May, as the regional figure that would reflect China's inflow in June hasn't been released.)

The EPFR datasets available on CEIC cover more than 151,000 traditional and alternative fund share classes accounting for more than $52 trillion in total assets – delivering a complete picture of the institutional and retail investor flows and fund manager allocations that drive global markets.
